Malo lele!
Just a greeting from South Auckland. It is pretty great down here with all of the islanders. I enjoy it at least. The work is progressing well and I am doing a decent work out here. We have a few investigators that are set for this month, although we were supposed to have 6 but three of them did not come to church and no longer qualify for baptism. Stink, but that is what happens when people just decide to be eggs. You can only do so much for them.
It has been ages since I have seen a Maori or a Palongi, which is just odd to think of, because that is all that I saw in Dargaville. Now they are just all islanders.
Well not really too much to say other than that. The week was good. We did have an interesting experience though to start out one of our days. We were walking out to the car and this man pulled up on his bicycle and said "You look a little old to be a missionary" (directed at me) and then went into this prophesy about him being a prophet of the Pentacostal faith and how New York would be abandoned and how the U.S. would begin to riot and then all of the kiwi's would come in and keep everyone calm. Continuing he growled into us for lying to everyone with the rest of the 20th century churches for telling everyone that God is love. That is incorrect, God is fear and in Genesis 22:14 (?) when Abraham is sacrificing Isaac he builds an altar and names it Jehovah-jirah and that ji-rah can mean "he sees" but the actual hebrew translation is jirah meaning "terror". Meaning that God is terror, and that the natural disasters is God! God is fear and he enjoys killing. That is his God.
That played with me a little bit. What exactly was this man trying to say? That God hates us? We are here to be destroyed. I wouldn't like to be the son of a God like that. But luckily the thoughts that we do have in all reality a loving Heavenly Father came to mind and confirmed my thoughts.
We do have a loving father who cares about us.
have a great week.
